You either love broccoli or you don’t know what you are missing. This amazing vegetable that is packed with multiple vitamins and minerals will make you question why Popeye chose spinach when the other green alternative is undoubtedly better.
You can eat it raw or try to cook it (but beware that some of the good stuff might not be retained after). And there are countless ways to cook it. You can steam it, boil it, microwave it, stir-fry it. You can eat it with pasta, rice, or meat. Seriously, there are no limits so let’s learn some of the benefits.
Broccoli as a source of vitamins:

Be ready to read a ton of vitamins (try not to let your mouth hang after): vitamin C (it protects your cells), vitamin A (it helps with illness and infections), vitamin K (it protects against blood clotting), vitamin B9 (for healthy cells growth), potassium (it maintains normal levels of fluids inside the cells), phosphorus (for the growth, maintenance, and repairs of cells and tissue), and selenium (now just imagine a cooked salmon with this vegetable).
You can eat it as a snack if you roast it with olive oil and some condiments.
Broccoli as protection against the cancers
It hasn’t been confirmed yet, but the studies point out that by eating this vegetable you might reduce your chances of getting different types of cancer. Namely, and not only, breast, prostate, gastric, kidney, or bladder cancer.
Now imagine eating a noodle dish with beef and knowing that it might save your life. And it’s so simple to cook: just toss the beef, cook it, and then add the broccoli (and maybe garlic if you are feeling adventurous). Of course, the star of the show is the sauce.
Broccoli to support heart health
If you eat this vegetable you can kiss goodbye to the low levels of cholesterol and triglyceride that lead to heart diseases.

Some studies suggest that by taking a broccoli supplement you might reduce those levels.
And other studies suggest that it can reduce even the chances of heart attacks.
For this, I recommend a yummy hot broccoli cream soup. Just sauté onions and celery for a couple of minutes, then add the broccoli and some chicken broth and let it simmer. After that blend it. You can add flour to thicken it. Or look for the cheese version online.
Broccoli for a healthy digestion
Because it is rich in fiber and antioxidants, you will have a healthy gut function.
Probably it is not the most authentic recipe but this broccoli egg fried rice can be the best food to take to work.
If you got some old rice you can make this quick dish. Just heat some oil and scramble an egg. Then you can cook your vegetables (and broccoli is going to be the star of this dish), add the rice and then the egg, pour some soy sauce, and voila: a healthy broccoli dish.
Broccoli against aging
No, it cannot stop aging altogether but it can make you look younger.

All the stress that you feel every day (from school to work to your family or love life) can take a toll on your body.
You can fight this with a good diet (and maybe some selenium pills).
And to start your day the best way you can you have to try these broccoli toasts. Toast some bread in the oven with olive oil. At the same time, use the oven to roast some garlic with broccoli. The bread should finish more quicker than the vegetables. Separately, whisk some honey, vinegar, and chili flakes. Add the roasted veggies and put them on the bread.
