Attack on Titan is one of the best animes in the world. Well, t least that’s what I think. In 2009, Hajime Isayama started the manga, and in 2013 the first anime adaptation aired. There was a lot of hype because this anime was not like the others…
Attack on Titan or Shingeki no Kyojin tells the story of humanity surviving titans. Caught within the walls created to protect them, people are living their lives dreaming about the outside world. The main character, Eren Yeager, along with his friends, Mikasa Ackerman and Armin Arlert are the main protagonists that are faced with the titans. Titans are creatures that look exactly like humans, but their height goes from 3 meters to 60 meters. They don’t have any sort of digestive or reproductory system, and…they eat people. What a coincidence!
The first three seasons
Here I’ll tell you something about the last three seasons. As you may know, the fourth season is currently airing. If you watched the show, please message me, I really need to talk about it. So, in the first season, in 2013, we discover something about titans. The Scouts are constantly looking for information about titans. THEN A FOUR YEARS BREAK COMES. Finally, in 2017, a second season comes. Everybody’s ecstatic. This time, we find out more people can become titans. In the third season, we have even more information and some badass scenes. The fourth season is…airing.
Then what’s so interesting about it?
Well, I’m glad you asked. First of all, the scenery. You have some very well-made fight scenes, and some of them are really disturbing. But besides that, the story is very emotional, as we have insights into each character’s childhood. Oh, and don’t forget about the hot characters. I am watching respectfully, okay?
But the most important aspect is the ideological one. The situation is this: what if you live in a society that is limited by forces that cannot be destroyed? Even if, until now, we don’t have enough information about what drives the creatures to behave like this. It’s like a history that’s unfolding as time goes by. One quote that’s always in my head from the series is:” You cannot change anything if you don’t sacrifice something”. And if you watch the show, you’ll understand.
And if you apply it to real life, you’ll understand. Humanity evolved because of the sacrifices that were made.
