I couldn’t help but notice how in the past months, the world has become more aware of the environmental issues taking place all around us. Brands, more specifically, in the beauty world, I keep seeing makeup artists recommending various cruelty-free products. However, not all of them are affordable and accessible to everyone.
Therefore, I thought it might be a good idea to share with you some of the 4 makeup brands I trust and are, of course, environment-friendly. Are you curious already? Keep reading!
As some of you might know, Essence is a brand from Germany. One thing I love about it is the fact that they are vegan and stopped testing on animals since 1998, showing that going cruelty-free was not just a marketing strategy for the Essence team. Their products are affordable and qualitative, which is why they’ve been my first choice for quite a while now.
One of my favorite products is the Lash Princess Mascara. It has a false lash effect and unlike other brands, Essence keeps its promises. The volume this mascara offers your lashes is absolutely insane, definitely something you wouldn’t expect from a $4.99 product. And besides, it’s waterproof! But don’t take my word for it, try it yourself and you’ll see I’m right!
2. I Heart Revolution
Another brand that I love & adore is I Heart Revolution. Just like all of the brands I am going to recommend in this article, it is cruelty-free and on the path of becoming 100% vegan.
My go-to product from them is a beautiful palette called the Chocolate Elixir Eyeshadow Palette, for the price of $13.09. I know, it already sounds tempting. The shades are quite neutral and perfectly wearable during the day-time. Blending those colors is simpler than ever, thanks to this amazing formula.
And yes, the chocolate smell will make you want to taste the palette before you test it!
3. BH Cosmetics
If you’re a makeup enthusiast, you’ve definitely heard of BH Cosmetics. Their ethical work is definitely something to praise, but have you tried their products? The quality is to die for. On this note, if you’re looking for something less pricy but just as good as luxury makeup products, BH Cosmetics is your best friend.
Something you would definitely want to try is the Take Me Back To Brazil Eyeshadow Palette.Personally, I’ve never traveled that far but I’m telling you, this is making me feel nostalgic over Brazil and I haven’t even dreamt about going there! The pigmentation is crazy and the color choice? I’m at a loss of words, honestly. You won’t regret buying this or any other product made by them. Oh, and it’s $24.98. Not that it matters anymore, I’m sure you’ve already added it to your shopping cart.
I know, it’s probably the most popular drugstore brand but hear me out. They’re something like the Zara of the beauty industry. And by that I mean they make excellent dupes over high-end makeup brands. For example, their Micro Brow Pencil. It comes in a large variety of shades and it’s just like the one from Anastasia Beverly Hills. The only difference is the price, which for the NYX pencil is only $9.97.
Keep in mind that interior beauty is just as important as the exterior one so check the label twice before you buy makeup again, it’s a real lifesaver.
If you found this article useful, don’t hesitate to share it with your friends and other makeup fans. Raising awareness about protecting the environment is the easiest way to contribute to a better tomorrow. Vegan make-up is a good alternative!
