Roger Stone, Trump’s ally, is sentenced to over 3 years in prison. He was convicted for lying under oath and trying to block the testimony of a witness. So, he was found guilty in November on 7 counts of lying to Congress, obstruction and witness tampering.
The case against Trump’s ally is surprising. But it is not unexpected at the same time. He is the sixth convicted in the case that became popular all around the world: Robert Mueller’s investigation after the 2016 election. Why was it so known? From there, the rumor about Russia’s help in Trump’s campaign truly started.
According to The New York Times, the President of the United States has attacked the prosecutors, the jury forewoman and the federal judge overseeing the trial, considering Stone just a victim of a political vendetta.
Roger Stone’s convictions are: lying to congressional investigators. Also, prosecutors found him guilty of trying to block the testimony of a witness who could have told the truth to the H.I.C (House Intelligence Committee). Because the Justice Department said it was considered the reduction of prison time for Trump’s ally, prosecutors on the case quit.
On Twitter, Mr. Trump characterized this as “very horrible and unfair”.
