We’ve talked about some old mini games that a lot of us used to play, in a previous article. So, I’m here once again to make you remember some other bigger games that not only me, but my loved ones used to play as well. Since we’re already so used to this quarantine mess, at least we can find a little bit of joy in games. Let’s surf the internet and seek these old games once again!

CS 1.6

I first started playing CS 1.6 when I was around 13 and it was so much fun! I can remember so clearly how on a New Years Eve my brother, father, uncle, a few family friends and I played this game all night! We made our own LAN server and the fun began with different maps (my favorites were Aztec, Cbble, Train, and of course, the good ol’ Dust II) and lots of laughter as many were killed with a headshot! As the quarantine extended, I sought new ways of spending my free time and remembered the times I played CS 1.6. If you are into shooting games you must have played this one!

GTA San Andreas and Vice City

I was 11 when I first entered a night-club…in GTA Vice City. When I was a 5th grader our school had its tiny lab with cca. 10 computers (and there were always at least 3 that didn’t work) inside the teacher’s lounge. After our teacher would show us how to create folders, write in word or draw in Microsoft Paint, she let us play either GTA San Andreas or Vice City. Some of us didn’t even know how to properly hold the mouse, yet all of us were so into this game!

Metin2

Drum rolls, please…if you know this game you are a true man of culture. If you played it, you are a legend! Just kidding, it’s not that great, but it marked a huge chunk of my childhood. Having a shaman girlfriend or warrior boyfriend was a must! I’m still surprised that after almost a decade, my father and brother are still playing this game! After playing it for less than a year I got bored and switched to other games, but they are still going!

Disney’s Tarzan

It was 2008, and thanks to my dad I played for the first time “Disney’s Tarzan”. It’s funny how on my 8th birthday my parents talked with a family friend who had a camera to record the mini party. A few weeks ago I was organizing some stuff. I found the CD with the recording of that day and guess what: I was non stop playing this game!

Every single sound effect is still so neatly stored in my memory and I was really close to play it again this quarantine. But since I’m already drowning in assignments, projects, homework and commissions, I told myself to wait a bit ‘till I get some more free time. Who said that quarantine is all about being a couch potato?

The Sims

We are talking about the real deal, a.k.a. the classic Sims 2! I played this for a little while on my computer and after it broke I switched to my dad’s phone. He had installed The Sims on his phone. It wasn’t an android, it was an old phone with no touchscreen, only buttons. The game was a free trial and I didn’t get to play it as much as I wanted to. And when I got my first android phone I started playing Sims Free to Play. I’m still enjoying it, whenever I can, during quarantine.
