When you have two product options for your baby and both options have qualities and defects, which one do you choose? Pampers or Huggies diapers? Which one is the best option?
You got here, so I’ll help you understand the differences between these two brands.
Both Pampers and Huggies are appreciated by moms and highly-priced for babies. But which is the first and which is the second in the top of the best options?
To understand the differences, I have made you some comparisons between what each product offers in terms of quality.
Let’s start the battle!
Both are premium brands and work great. Pampers may fit your baby better, they have a more contoured fit on your baby’s body.
The Tab Color
You already know that Pampers have yellow tabs and Huggies have white tabs. Huggies tabs may look better, but from my point of view, Pampers stand out more. Both brand tabs are separate layers in the diapers.
The Tab Fastening Power
Huggies tabs are completely Velcro, while Pampers tabs have strips of Velcro, so the Pampers diaper tabs will feel stronger than Huggies’.
I know, I know, this isn’t important for you, because it’s just the appearance, and when you change the diaper you don’t really care what it looks like. BUT! Let’s be honest. It’s already quite “nice” that you change that diaper 8 times per day and every time it smells more and more … fragrant. So it’s good to have a beautiful print, to make you smile.
That’s why Huggies has a design with cartoon characters and a few splashes of color that covers the whole front and back of the diaper. Pampers has a design along the area where the tabs fasten to help parents to differentiate the front from the back and the size of the diaper. So, obviously, Huggies wins for their soft and fun design.
Pampers and Huggies both have wetness indicators with the same length and both are obvious. Huggies is slightly wider.
Cord clearance and outside feel
From this point of view, Huggies diapers have more cord clearance than Pampers, which means the umbilical cord stump won’t rub against the diaper. If we talk about the outside feel, Pampers diaper has a softer, quilted feel.
Which one has the best fit?
Pampers has a more profiled fit because Huggies bunches up and hangs down more between the baby’s legs. Pampers diaper leg cuffs are gussets with two elastic bands that prevent leaking around the legs, but Huggies are much more elastic and stretchy. The Huggies diaper is slightly shorter than Pampers, so if you want to prevent diaper leaks and explosions up the back, the Huggies diaper is a better option.
The Absorbency – From this point of view, both brands of diapers have incredible absorption.
Which has the most skin-friendly ingredients?
In the battle of Pampers and Huggies, Pampers win in terms of ingredients, because their diapers are free from bisphenol-a, dioxins, elemental chlorine, disperse dyes, ethanol, latex, organotins, parabens, phenol, and PVC.
According to the Huggies Company, their diapers are “elemental chlorine-free and free of natural rubber latex. They are fragrance-free, paraben-free, and EU allergens-free”. But Pampers has a transparency of ingredients, so that means they definitely have fewer nasty chemicals, but Huggies doesn’t list them on their website. So…for the transparency of ingredients, Pampers win in this case.
The best cost
Everyone looks at the price when they buy baby diapers because no one wants to spend a lot of money on something that would not be beneficial for the baby.
Therefore, both Pampers and Huggies have similar prices, very convenient, especially knowing that they are quality products.
