Most women have tried nail polish at some point in their lives. Maybe you were curious as a child when seeing your mother apply some. Or maybe you thought it would make you more feminine to start wearing nail polish. Whatever the case, nail polish is sure to have had an impact on your life. Nail polish complements outfits and it gives your overall appearance a boost. You don’t have to make difficult nail art. Even combining basic colours can give you the desired look. But some nail polish is better than others. Here are some nail polish brands I’ve tried and my thoughts on them.
O.P.I. nail polish
When I first became interested in using nail polish, I resorted to different YouTube videos for help in choosing nail polish brands. There are some steps to follow if you want good results. Many people recommended O.P.I., although others seemed greatly disappointed by it. The major disadvantage is that it’s quite expensive. The price depends on the site or shop you buy from. They have a beautiful variety of nail polish and the application is great. You will get pigmented nail polish, so no need for five coats of polish to see colour. The nail polish looks just as good on your nails as it does in the bottle. However, some of them are prone to bubbles underneath the surface. It might’ve been my bad luck.
Golden Rose nail polish
It is by far my favourite nail polish brand. It isn’t as widespread as other nail polish brands, but in my opinion, it’s very good. The brand is affordable and there is a lot of variety to choose from (mainly basic colours). Some of the lighter colours need multiple coats to be opaque. In this case it might take a longer time for it to dry. They last for a long time and the colours combine well if you want to do nail art. I haven’t had issues with bubbles, thankfully. They are the bane of my existence. I also really like their top coats, as I find their finish to be really glossy and nice.
Maybelline nail polish
It’s quite well-known and you can find it pretty much everywhere. It is affordable as well. The application is not amazing for most of their nail polish, but you can build up the intensity of colours with two to three coats. However, I do like the range of colours and effects that they offer. The nail polish dries quickly as well. The bubbles issue is present with some of their nail polish, but I haven’t found it to be a great issue. It does chip quite easily, so make sure to apply a good top coat.
Sally Hansen nail polish
Although not as expensive as O.P.I. nail polish, it is more expensive than the other two mentioned. Some prices are comparable though. Again, it depends on the site or the shop that you buy it from. I’ve mostly used shades of red from this brand. The colours are vibrant, but sometimes you might need to add another coat for opacity. Depending on the country you are in, there might not be much of a variety to choose from. The nail polish lasts for long and applies smoothly on the nail. I haven’t had issues with chipping or bubbles.
Hopefully these examples are helpful in your search for more nail polish. Each brand has advantages and disadvantages. It’s important to note that sometimes nail polish reacts to top or base coats from certain brands. That might affect the performance of the nail polish. On top of that, ingredients change, so my experience might be different from yours. All in all, these nail polish brands are amazing and worth trying out.
