My favourite Christmas songs to put me in a festive mood

For me, Christmas is that time of the year when it feels like magic truly exists. Gloomy weather, you rolled up in a big fluffy blanket with a hot drink in your hand, stockings lying by the chimneys… all of these go hand in hand with some good music, right?
Here are 10 songs that will cheer you up and put you in a „Christmasy” mood:

1. It’s Beginning to Look a Lot Like Christmas – Johnny Matthis
Written in 1951 by Meredith Willson, the song’s original name was „ It’s beginning to look like Christmas”. There are many versions of this masterpiece, but my favourite is the 1981, interpreted by Johnny Matthis. Another amazing interpretation would be the 2011 one, by Michael Buble.

2. Santa Tell Me- Ariana Grande
Released worldwide on November 24, 2014, the song reached quickly the top of the music industry. Its first performance was at the 2014 „A Very Grammy Christmas” concert in Los Angeles and continues to warm our hearts since then.

3. I’m Dreaming of a White Christmas – Frank Sinatra and Bing Crosby
This song will give you all the chills. Recalling the image of an outdated Christmas, there is no bigger wish for the winter holidays than a white view from your window.

4. A Holly Jolly Christmas – Burl Ives
I tell you, this is the best carol to decorate your Christmas tree on. So get your dear ones and put this melody on repeat, because Christmas is just once in a year.

5. Feliz Navidad – Jose Feliciano
Feliz Navidad is Feliciano’s most famous composition. It was released in 1970 and this is also the name of his album. Cheerful as it is, you can’t help but sing along.

6. Twelve Days of Christmas – Pentatonix
I love this American Band so much and I love their remix even more. Pentatonix is a group of talented people who sing mostly a capella. The power in their voices will leave speechless, always coming back for more.

7. Here Comes Santa Clause – Elvis Presley
Another oldie, but goldie. We cannot forget about Santa, otherwise, he might forget about us. Hurry up and prepare some cookies and his glass of milk, while binge listening to this song.

8. You’re a Mean One, Mr. Grinch
If you want something to spice up a little bit your holidays, then I highly recommend you to listen to the soundtracks from “Dr. Seuss’ How the Grinch stole the Christmas!”, especially “You’re a mean one, Mr. Grinch”. Lately, I’ve got an obsession for the trap remix of this one, and you can even find on Youtube a 10-hour version of it. Thank me later!

9. My Kind Of Present, Meghan Trainor
Cool and cute, you should definitely listen to this song. Meghan is one of my favourite artists ever. She is so inspiring and her voice is just perfect for this cold season.

10. Rockin’ Around the Christmas Tree – Brenda Lee
There is no Christmas without “Rockin’ Around the Christmas Tree”. I think we all know this song from the iconic “Home Alone” scene when Kevin was having the best time of his life while protecting the house against the 2 intruders.
