Mayombe Rainforest – the Amazon of Africa


The Mayombe Rainforest is a piece of paradise located in Angola, Cabinda province, Africa. This is a magic place in the north of the country, full of many species of animals such as: chimpanzees, gorillas, monkeys, elephants and many rare birds that could impress anyone.


The Mayombe Rainforest has also got a rich flora, many kinds of trees, for example we may find trees of incredible heights, more than 50 meters in height, these trees are huge and they create such a beautiful, natural scenery.


The second biggest forest in the world!

One thing that many people don’t know about this place, is that this is the second biggest forest in the world, 290 thousand hectares to visit; staying behind the biggest and most famous forest, the Amazonian forest.

The Mayombe Rainforest represents a big part of the richness and natural resources of the country as it offers much wood, an essential product to make furniture for the country and to export. This forest represents and makes proud the people from Cabinda, and other provinces of Africa, ’cause this forest is a dream making part of the reality.
