Makeup is more than a method of care, but a real beauty ritual for many women. However, the makeup must be removed every night and properly. This stage is the one that can make the difference between an impeccable complexion and one with problems. As much as we like makeup, and are passionate about this field, we must be aware that, most of the time, makeup products are the ones that aggress our skin and cause all kinds of ailments. The first thing any woman needs to do is to carefully choose the cosmetics she applies to her face, and then the makeup removal routine must be complete and correct.

What is makeup removal?

I know that in translation would mean removing makeup from the skin. In reality, it is the term we are generally used to using for skin cleansing. This step must be checked at least twice a day. Both in the morning and in the evening we need to clean our skin. In the morning of excess sebum, care products applied overnight or to start the day fresh. The evening is already getting thicker. We need to remove our products applied in the morning, dust and impurities, but also for refreshment.

Why should we take our makeup off every night?

No matter how tired you are, even if you come back from a party at 3 in the morning or come home from the office after 9 o’clock in the evening, where a lot of other household chores are waiting for you, whatever you do, you don’t actually have to fall asleep with face makeup. During sleep, skin cells regenerate, but if you leave your makeup on overnight, it will only block this process and do more damage to the skin. Therefore, not removing it before bed can have these consequences:

1. Premature aging

If you sleep with makeup on your face, you can speed up the process of wrinkles. All the products you use accumulate in fine lines, the result being premature aging of your skin. If you are too tired in the evening to go through all the care steps, put your cleansing wipes next to the bed. But don’t forget, in the morning, to use a cleansing gel and the right creams.

2. Ophthalmic infections

The mascara should not remain on the eyelashes during sleep. Lack of makeup removal can lead to infection of the eyelash area, which means that your eyes will be red, and you will need treatment. Remember that bacteria can be very dangerous to the eyes. Try to take more care of your skin, because you would not want to go to the doctor for such problems that can be avoided, right?

3. The appearance of imperfections

You probably already knew this, but makeup removal is not only about removing makeup, but also bacteria and dust that settles after a day. These things enter the pores and lead to acne. Remove your make-up every night if you don’t want to face small annoying imperfections.

If you use foundation, transfer, and blush, resistant to transfer, then it must be done thoroughly. The remnants of these products block the pores and result in inflammation of the blood vessels in the cheeks, known as rosacea, and the appearance of acne.

4. Prevents cell regeneration

When the sun goes down, and you rest, the body regenerates. Specifically, dead skin cells are replaced by new ones, which provide shine and suppleness to the face. However, when you do not remove makeup, dead cells are no longer removed and accumulate, giving the skin a tired look and no vitality. In addition, dead cells prevent hydration of creams through creams, and consequently, it dries.
