Without any doubt, La Casa de Papel is on everyone’s lips at the moment since season 5 has just been released. I honestly believe La Casa de Papel is the best Spanish TV series that I have ever seen because it is so exciting, captivating, full of twists and turns and you simply cannot hold yourself from watching a whole season in one day.

Usually, I don’t spend so much time watching a TV series because it either becomes boring along the way or it gets too predictable. However, this one seriously got me addicted! 😊)

As such, let’s see why is La Casa de Papel such an enthralling TV series to its audience and why (almost) everyone is watching it.

The plot of La Casa de Papel is mind-blowing

Just imagine being a pawn in this brilliant plan constructed by El Professor and becoming part of the biggest heists that had ever existed in history. I know, it is scary and exciting at the same time. We’ve seen that robbing the Royal Mint of Spain was not at all easy and with the Bank of Spain, it won’t be simple either. But what I really find mind-blowing about the plot is that you can’t really guess what is about to happen.

There is always one detail that we miss or we are not let to know. When we think that this time we got it, something else happens and it changes the plot’s direction unexpectedly. When the Police believe that they finally caught them, well… they are wrong because El Professor always has a solution for every problem. And obviously, this invites us to another episode, and another episode…

But who is the bad guy?

We are accustomed to this idea and we are told since childhood that the good guys always catch the bad ones in order to keep people safe. But is it really a general rule? Well… La Casa de Papel shows us that we should not let ourselves be fooled and immediately decide who is the bad guy and who is not. The police forge evidence against the robbers and surprisingly against their own people. Also, they no longer care if there would be collateral victims because their aim now is not to protect the citizens, but to stop the heist.

Sometimes the robbers care much more about the hostages than the police. And guess what, they have feelings as everybody and they would never betray one another for anything in the world. They have each other backs, they support each other in any way and they are always prepared to die for each other.

That is what I really love about this TV show because it absolutely destroys stereotypes and preconceptions about villains. Sometimes the ones who pretend to be good are evil and the other way round. Do not let yourself be trapped by this illusion, because there is no general rule as to people’s goodness or evilness.

So keep watching La Casa de Papel and enjoy it to the fullest!
