How to choose a family car?

0

If you have 1, 2 or 3 kids, and you need a family car for travel, business and shopping together, I have some tips and car models which I hope will help you choose the perfect family car.

When you’re searching for a family car, be sure it respects all these requirements:

1. 3-seater bench: I recommend this seater because, with 2 or more kids, there would be enough space for their comfort.
2. Isofix system for kid’s chair: this chair has a special seatbelt and a shell shape which will keeps the baby safe.
3. A big luggage: for this requirement, search for a car with luggage with a capacity of over 380 liters. For a family, the space for travel bags is important.
4. All-wheel-drive system or front-wheel-drive system: it’s important to be safe, and when it rains or during the winter, with a rear-wheel-drive the control is limited for a speed over 60km/h.

I recommend a combi car or an SUV. Why? All those requirements are respected, and it’s also comfortable for a family weekend trip.
Here are 4 of my recommendations for this subject, enjoy!

4. Nissan Qashqai (2013-2017)

Nissan is known for its cars with reliable engines. The car I speak about is a crossover, which comes with 7 engine variants from 110 to 163 hp. So, that’s enough for a compact SUV. Car owners, especially the owners of the 1.6 dCi 110 hp engine, say that the Japanese CVT automatic gearbox gives off the sensation of a sports car. Also, the interior is specific to the classic budget car: textile interior, simple dashboard instrument, and qualitative electronics. Technically speaking, I have never heard any complaints.

3. Skoda Octavia III (2013-2017)

source: ProMotor

This car is more than a vehicle for all ages: 32 engine versions, from 85 to 230hp, manual or automatic gearbox, front-wheel drive or 4×4. As any car has mini-sets you can expect the DSG7 automatic gearbox oil change to be carried out at 60.000 km. I recommend the car to families who want a car to do their job. To be luxurious, within the limits of the budget, and to be resistant in time. The well-known 2.0 TDI with the 150hp engine never disappoints and is perhaps the most popular engine of the VAG group.

2. Renault Megane III Grandtour (2014-2016)

source : Auto-Data

This French pride has 8 engine variations: From 95 to 220 hp, they are mechanically good engines. I sat in the passenger seat of this car, the 1.5 dCi version, 110 hp, and I was impressed by the luxury of the car: textile seats, made of a quality material. Not only that, but I was amazed by the response to acceleration, which is still incremental even if the engine is small, compared to the other top vehicles. This car has a relatively fast acceleration of 0-100 km/h, and as for the entertainment, the Renault audio system is clear, well balanced and easy to use. I recommend the car. It is worth all the credit, and from a mechanical point of view, I have not heard any owner complain about the engine.

1. Audi A6 Allroad (2012-2014)

source : Autocar

Why Allroad and not the combi? I’ll explain now. In addition to the classic motive of engines, the car is made to resist all types of roads. So, from country roads to motorways, it can withstand everything without serious problems. The machine has 5 engine variants: from 204 to 313hp, automatic or manual gearbox, and 4×4 integral system. The car comes with the classic VAG group problem: oil loss. Many buyers complain about this problem, but they also say that despite the problem already known by brand engineers, the car behaves exceptionally on the way.
