How I survived through high school

These four years of high school in your life can be full of joy or a total disappointment. How is it possible? Well, it actually depends on you. Here’s what I suggest you to do to have the best experience.

1) Do not change yourself for other people.

I understand that you may have an attraction for popularity, for people who have a lot of friends, or maybe money, but do not start doing things you are not comfortable doing like smoking or doing drugs just because you think that you will look cool. You are putting your health at risk and you will do more harm than good.

2) Concentrate on your future.

I know, I know you want to have fun, and to feel that you are alive. Time flies though. And what you do in high school will have an impact on your future. So, have fun, dance, sing, do what makes you happy, but try to make a balance. Don’t forget to study, because you study for yourself. The purpose of studying is to have a bright future. Right, it sounds cliché, but believe me, even though it is, you will thank yourself for doing it.

3) Read!

Any book, any type: Sf, romance, horror, thriller, comedy, it really does not matter, you could even read health magazines. Read to expand your vocabulary, to make your imagination flow, thus educating yourself. By reading, you can relax, and escape real life for a few hours, also create a happy place.

4) Volunteer

Why? Because you can find people that have the same interests as you do, you make your city a better place to live in, you learn new skills and it looks great and your resume. I see only wins here. Don’t you?
The best advice I can think of is: Always be yourself and always thrive to be the best you that you can be. It will be okay. You will survive.
