Great movies that will be one decade old in 2022

It feels surreal when I think about the fact that 2012 was ten years ago. So, feeling nostalgic, I started re-watching favorite movies from my teenage years, and it took me some time to realize that most of them will be celebrating their 10th birthday in 2022. Here are the movies that will be one decade old and make you realize how dangerously fast time flies by.

Pitch Perfect

If you thought acapella is boring and nerdy, you’ll think again after watching Pitch Perfect. The musical comedy starring the talented Anna Kendrick is perfect for cheering you up when you are feeling blue and will most certainly make you reminisce about your college years.

The Dictator

The satirical comedy revolving around the ruthless North African tyrant Aladeen is brought to life by the hilarious Sacha Baron Cohen. After the dictator successfully evades an attempt of assassination organized by his uncle, he goes undercover in New York City, trying to fit in as hard as he can.

The Avengers

For the first time in history, our planet’s superheroes come together and combine their powers to defeat the malicious Loki and stop him from sowing terror on Earth. Robert Downey Jr., Chris Evans, Chris Hemsworth, Mark Ruffalo, and Scarlett Johansson come back on the big screen and retake the roles of Iron Man, Captain America, Thor, Hulk, and Black Widow respectively.

The Vow

The Vow is one of those “cry your eyes out” movies that will make you appreciate your partner more than ever. After surviving an almost fatal car accident, Paige (Rachel McAdams) suffers from severe brain trauma, causing her to experience amnesia. Not having any memory of her husband Leo (Channing Tatum), she sees him as a stranger, making their relationship slowly deteriorate.

The Hunger Games

I remember like it was yesterday when the first part of the movies came out. I was a major fan of the books and you can only imagine how I felt when I walked into the cinema and saw the movie for the first time. After its release, Suzanne Colins’ trilogy, which was already a giant best-seller, became a must-read YA book series of the century.

21 Jump Street

The action-comedy movie directed by Phil Lord and Christopher Miller will make you laugh your pants off. Channing Tatum and Johan Hill play the duo of best friends/ police officers who are sent undercover in a local high school to stop the sale of a synthetic drug circling among the students.

Life of Pi

The story about a young boy being trapped on a lifeboat with a wild tiger after surviving a horrific shipwreck concurred the world with the speed of light. Suraj Sharma did a terrific job in playing the main character, leaving the audience in awe.

The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn Part 2

The Twilight fandom will most certainly feel nostalgic and reminisce about the moments when the movie adaptation came out, particularly the last part of the series. Stephanie Mayer’s books attracted a massive teenage audience. The movies didn’t disappoint either.
