Genshin Impact has been my main hobby this summer. Since I wanted some time to relax, I found that the best way would be to immerse myself in a world that provides enough novelty to keep me entertained but feels familiar enough so that I could feel comfortable in it.
And wouldn’t you know it, Genshin Impact happened to be just that. I was quite familiar with the adventure RPG elements and I had fun trying to figure out how the gacha mechanics and the interesting fighting system. But these are just two of the reasons why Genshin Impact is so fun to play!
A fun world is waiting to be discovered!
The world of Genshin Impact is pretty vast and full of surprises. In every corner of the map there is something new to see or an interesting enemy to beat. A player spends a lot of time out in the open, fighting these bosses and acquiring different materials for their characters and weapons.
Currently, the game has multiple regions, each one with a set aesthetic and a different sound track. The newest addition to Genshin Impact, Inazuma, is a beautiful region with a Japanese aesthetic painted in a beautiful purple palette.
A colorful cast of characters
Possibly the biggest draw for Genshin Impact players is the cast of characters. A lot of them are currently playable, which means that the player can have them on their team and roam the world.
But even if you cannot get a certain character, you can meet them in different quests or even try them out in different events. Currently, fan favorites such as Zhongli, Xiao or Hu Tao have their own story quests, which allows the player to try them out and see if they like the character or their abilities.
The gameplay and gacha mechanics
What I like about the Genshin Impact’s gameplay is that it is easy enough on the surface for the casual gamers to enjoy, but the hardcore gamers can get more into it, by discovering new weapons, artifacts and getting more characters.
The fighting system is based on the elements in the games: Pyro (fire), Cryo (ice), Geo (earth), Hydro (water), Electro (electricity), Anemo (air) and Dendro (plants). The characters and enemies have powers based on one of those elements and the reactions between them determine the damage in a fight. This makes the combat very fun and engaging, and allows the player to use different characters and elements.
Genshin Impact is free…-ish
Genshin Impact offers you enough perks as a free-to-play player. You can take part in every event, you can experience every story, you can do everything. However, the in-game currency is notoriously hard to acquire, and unless you want to pay money, you will most likely not get the full experience of a character or the best weapons all of the time.
Even so, I don’t think that this aspect lowers the fun of the game too much. If anything, most free-to-play players actually enjoy saving up the currency and use it mostly on characters that they really want to get and then spend time playing with them. You can enjoy the whole Genshin Impact experience without ever needing to pay a penny!
I hope that you will give Genshin Impact a chance in the near future, since it is such a fun game that anyone can enjoy. We have more articles on videogames, so don’t hesitate to read them for more recommendations!
