From passion to work

I always thought that working should be a pleasure, you should work out of passion and then come home happy, not angry and stressed. Though, I never saw people around me that followed that thought of mine. I always saw that my parents were stressed, even I, when I worked during the summer, I found myself coming home and bursting into tears because I was stressed and couldn’t manage it anymore, I wasn’t doing what I wanted to or what I liked, and that’s destructive. That’s why I’m here today, to tell you that from passion to work it’s just a simple step, that might seem hard at first, but with time it becomes easier.

I’m not going to talk about cliches like “follow your dreams and your work will be your passion.” I’m just going to tell you that not everyone can follow their passions and dreams because life isn’t that easy, but everyone can make a passion out of their work.

How does that work?

If you’re still young, you’re lucky. You still have time to decide what is suitable for you and what you see yourself doing for a lifetime. You shouldn’t think of your workplace like the place where you earn money and that’s all, you should think of it like your 2nd home, a place where you learn something new every day, a place where you can find yourself every day.

That’s it, you should find yourself in your work, because when you find yourself, you find passion.

Never underestimate your powers, no one can decide for you.

You’re the only one who knows what you should do for a living, and if you don’t know, you must discover that. That’s why you should consider personal development as a daily thing, never let one day pass without knowing more about yourself.

Think about your strong points.

What are you good at? What do you like about yourself and what do you like to do? That’s how you can transform your passion into work, by thinking deep and giving the thought a lot of time. You can’t just decide what your passions are overnight. Give it time if you want to go from passion to work, don’t be too hard on yourself.

If you’re an artist, a singer, a chemistry lover, a gamer, a PC obsessed person, anything is possible! Your passion stands there, waiting for you to make a living out of it. If you don’t have any passions, you just have to discover them. You have to trust yourself a little and go for it, it’s hard but if you are determined you can do it.

What happens when you’re not that young anymore and everything turns out badly?

You work just for money and forget about what really matters: feeling your best while you are working, and doing something you love, or, at least, something you enjoy and gives you a good vibe. And that’s not how things should be.

If you’re quite old, you feel like you’re doing the wrong thing and you just destroyed your whole career, you shouldn’t panic. As I said earlier, think about what you like to do. What are your passions?

And work hard. It’s never too late, even if some people might tell you that. (I know that’s a cliche, but this one’s a good one, friends!)

No one deserves a life without pleasure in it, and the best pleasure in this world is when you do what you love and make a living out of it. So go on and do whatever your heart wants, you can’t live without money, but if you don’t do what you like, it isn’t life at all!
