Kellie Chauvin, important request in her divorce filing from Georges’ Floyd killer! The wife of the former police officer demands to have her last-name changed after divorcing Derek Chauvin.
The day before George Floyd was killed, more specifically, May 28th, Kellie Chauvin separated from her partner.
After more than a decade of marriage, she decides to call it quits. Although she described him as a “gentleman” and “a softie under the uniform” in an interview from 2018, it seems like lately, their relationship wasn’t so pink anymore.
She also asked for a division of their common vehicles and bank accounts and refused spousal support.
Kellie’s past wasn’t at all sugar, spice & everything nice.
She was born in 1974, in Laos and she immigrated to America with her family. She was married through an arrangement when she was underage and had two kids. Her former husband was abusive and after she divorced him, Kellie moved to Minnesota.
When she met Kevin Chauvin, she was working in an emergency room at the Hennepin County Medical Center in Minneapolis.
In 2018, she stated about Kevin with the Pioneer Press: “He’s such a gentleman. He still opens the door for me, still puts my coat on for me. After my divorce, I had a list of must-haves if I were ever to be in a relationship, and he fit all of them.”
