Colibița (Hungarian: Kolibica) is a village in the Bistrița-Năsăud County, Transylvania, Romania. The village is located on the Bistrița Valley, between the Bârgău Mountains and the Călimani Mountains, on the shores of Colibița Lake – an accumulation lake in the Colibița Village. The local authorities have started the procedures for obtaining the status of “resort”, considering its popularity.
According to a legend, there used to be a city where the lake is, but it was swallowed by water. Sometimes, when the lake is drier, they say you can see a cross rising from the calm waters of the Colibița Lake.
