Boris Johnson, who was diagnosed with the virus in late-March, is now in intensive care due to the COVID-19! A spokesperson of the No.10 Downing Street said on Monday that his condition worsened. After that, he was admitted to St Thomas’ Hospital in London on his doctor’s advice.
”Over the course of this afternoon, the condition of the Prime Minister has worsened and, on the advice of his medical team, he has been moved to the Intensive Care Unit at the hospital,” the spokesman said.
Johnson has asked Foreign Secretary Dominic Raab to stand in for him where necessary. He stayed in self-isolation after finding out that he is positive for the coronavirus, but he continued working.
Downing Street had confirmed last week that Raab would step in as acting PM if Johnson had to step back from his duties due to illness.
Boris Johnson will remain in intensive care until his condition will become stable.
Heath care officials confirmed 51,608 cases of coronavirus across the UK, with 5,373 deaths in hospital.
