Undoubtedly, youth is the most exciting part of anyone’s life. Despite the fact that human beings are unique and different in many ways, we can say that youth is quite similar for most of them: Not only is it full of fun, unforgettable experiences, but it also offers many treasured lessons. Every young person lives each day like it’s their last and doesn’t worry about a lot of things. But don’t forget that today, August 12th is World Youth Day.
The sad part is that young people are not aware of this. Most of them, if not all of them, are such in a rush to grow up and to be responsible adults because they think that life would be better afterwards. Why is that? This is what I’m going to write about today: youth.
Youth and its impact on our lives
Well, to be honest, we don’t really appreciate what we have until it’s gone. The same thing happens with youth. Many young people don’t realize that this is the moment. I think that every person has said “When I grow up, I will…” at least once. Young people don’t realize that the world is their oyster: they have so many opportunities to broaden their horizons and to shape their personalities in the most wonderful way possible.
Youth is such an amazing period of a person’s life, full of yet unknown things. But, thankfully, most young people aren’t afraid of the unknown and they try to familiarize themselves with it. This can have both positive and negative consequences, but that’s not a problem: all these experiences are meant to make them the stable and adults they aspire so much to be. Until then, they have this idea of independence and they want to be mature individuals.
They think they have all the answers and that they shouldn’t listen to their parents at all. Young people are innocent and pure and they think they’re unstoppable. But, whenever something happens and they don’t have any sort of control over it, they obviously ask their parents for help. And no matter how much their parents want to say “I told you so!”, they still help their children.
Then, they learn and grow.
Why is youth so beautiful?
Young people have a lot of plans and aspirations. They have feelings they don’t fully understand and they are dreamy most of the time. What’s more beautiful than dreaming and thinking that everything you’re dreaming of can be real in a split second? What about naively thinking that every person is a blessing and wants us to be well? Youngsters have such a big and good heart, it’s unimaginable. They are full of hope. They make new friends whom they fully trust, without thinking of any sort of betrayal. They fall in love, without thinking about heartbreak. Most of the beautiful memories a person has are from their youth.
If you ask me, this is impressive! A young soul experiences and feels so much, yet doesn’t stop dreaming. Later, when the young soul becomes an adult soul, it nostalgically remembers these years as the best ones and regrets the desire to grow up as fast as possible.
So, don’t be in such a rush to be a responsible adult. Cherish and treasure this short, yet impactful part of your life and make it the best! Celebrate this day and do what you’ve always wanted to do. The world is your oyster, live every day like it’s your last and never stop dreaming! Follow your dreams and broaden your horizons: you won’t regret it!
Happy World Youth Day!
