Actor Angus Cloud, who starred in HBO’s hit teen series “Euphoria,” has died at the age of 25, just days after the death of his father, his family said in a statement.

According to relatives, the young man was found breathless in his own home on Monday, July 31.

Cloud played Fezco, a drug dealer, in the series starring Zendaya.

No specific cause of death was reported, but the family’s statement said he suffered from mental health problems and was hit hard by the death of his father, described as his “best friend”, who was buried last week.

“It is with the heaviest heart that we had to say goodbye to an incredible human today. As an artist, a friend, a brother and a son, Angus was special to all of us in so many ways. Last week he buried his father and intensely struggled with this loss. The only comfort we have is knowing Angus is now reunited with his dad, who was his best friend. Angus was open about his battle with mental health and we hope that his passing can be a reminder to others that they are not alone and should not fight this on their own in silence,”  the actor’s family said, quoted by CNN.

Cloud has had small roles in independent films before, but his breakout role came in 2019’s “Euphoria,” which features a group of California high school students dealing with sex, drugs and violence.
Fezco O’Neill’s character, known as Fez, develops a close bond with Zendaya’s protagonist, who comes out of rehab at the start of the series but still struggles with addiction.

The critically acclaimed series has won numerous awards, including two Emmy Awards and a Golden Globe for Zendaya.

The show aired for two full seasons in 2019 and 2022, plus a pair of special episodes in 2020 and 2021, with a third season set for 2025, according to IMDB.
