3 great, affordable skincare brands you can find at Sephora

In the last couple of years, skincare has begun to become a lot more mainstream than it used to be, which isn’t a bad thing. The growing popularity of having a skincare routine has brought with it a significant rise in the number of skincare brands on the market, which can seem a little daunting, especially to someone who’s new to it.

Another problem could be the fact that, at first glance, you may be tempted to believe that you need to spend a lot of money on high-quality skincare products, but that isn’t true. Here are 3 amazing, affordable skincare brands you can find at your local Sephora:

  1. The Inkey List

The Inkey List is a relatively new skincare brand which has been steadily gaining popularity for its affordable, wide range of products formulated with simple ingredients. Most of their products are generally concentrated on one key ingredient, and, therefore, they target one specific issue, which can make it easy for beginners to select products based on their skin’s specific needs. My personal favorite is their Retinol Serum.

In addition to providing products that are easy to use for beginners, the people at The Inkey List have gone one step further and created a skincare routine recipe builder on their website. This is a 2-minute test in which you have to answer questions about your skin and, at the end of it, you receive a personalized skincare routine.

  1. The Ordinary

The Ordinary is another incredibly popular brand that, much like The Inkey List, is focused on manufacturing products aimed at specific issues or skin types. They, too, use simple ingredients and name their products directly after the ingredients they contain. Although it can be a bit difficult to look at a product that’s named something like “Vitamin C Suspension 23% + HA Spheres 2%” and know what it does, especially if you’re new to skincare, reading the label will help clear it out right away.

The Ordinary is especially renowned for their chemical exfoliators, which have been proven to be a lot more efficient and beneficial in the long run than traditional scrubs. They can be irritating if your skin is on the sensitive side, so you should probably do some research before trying them out if you have sensitive skin. My favorite out of all of them is their AHA 30% + BHA 2% Peeling Solution, and I also recommend their Salicylic Acid 2% Masque for acne-prone skin.

  1. Sephora Collection

Sephora Collection has been around for years. It’s Sephora’s own line of skincare and makeup that typically creates cheaper products than you would usually find in their stores. Although their makeup can be, in my opinion, hit or miss, their skincare products are pretty good.

One great thing about Sephora Collection is that they have a wide range of affordable face masks, and it’s impossible not to find one that suits your skin, whether it’s a sheet mask, a peel-off or a clay mask. Asides from this, they have also recently developed a skincare line called “We care for good,” which is formulated with natural ingredients. My favorite is their Super Matte Moisturizer, and I would recommend their Melting Cleansing Balm to anyone who’s looking to try out a good makeup remover that’s different from your typical micellar water or wet wipes.
