2022 has just started and we are all excited to see what the world of anime has to offer. Apart from the obvious already weekly wonders like Attack on Titan and Demon Slayer( Kimetsu no Yaba) , there are some announced anime series that will get old fans thrilled, for they are finally responding to the long call for new seasons of so many people, or we have newcomers which demand your attention. Let’s see the gems of 2022:
1.Spy X Family
This anime series makes me excited and I cannot wait to see one of the most heartwarming mangas I have ever read being animated, given a voice and some light. The story follows a peculiar family of 4: Lloyd Forger, an elusive spy working for the Government to catch the bad guys, Yor Forger, a professional assassin, their adopted daughter Ania and their cute bear- like dog, Bean.
The marriage is nothing more than a cover follery for both of them, but will they eventually fall in love and discover the meaning of being a family? We shall see in the season to come. All I can tell you is that Tatsuya Endo did a great job in the manga, illustrating the story of a “cover-up family” formed of strange individuals who will eventually learn how to cohabit. The anime is set to appear in April of 2022, the exact date tba.
2. Bleach: Thousand-Year Blood War
I cannot tell you how excited I am about this gem of a show. As someone who grew up with Ichigo and his friends, I cannot wait enough for this series to start. This is the final work of the manga series and one of the best, in my opinion. I already know how everything will unfold, as many of you do too, I am sure, because the manga ended quite a long time ago.
However, I am absolutely excited to see Ichigo and co back at it again, in full animation. Let’s hope Pierrot studio will do it justice and will give us some phenomenal fighting scenes. The series is to come in October of 2022, date tba.
3.The Devil is a Part-Timer:
This one is a more obscure one amongst the non-Japanese audience, but this show is yet another one of my childhood favourites. The story follows the Devil (Maou) and a Hero (EMilia) from another dimension who end up on earth after their nemesis fight which will create a breach in their dimension’s flow.
They have to face the new world they enter , one of the biggest challenges being to accommodate the strange blackness of being a normal human being. However, they will have to come together to try to save their new home from some unwanted enemies from their dimension. I sure hope this series will bring back one of the most dynamic duos and their refreshing relationship and will do it justice in the new season to come.The series is to come in July of 2022, date tba.
4. Uzumaki
Yepp, you heard it here folks, Junji Ito’s horror masterpiece is coming to the big screens in 2022. What can I say more about this absolutely magnificent work of art than: Let’s go. I cannot tell you how excited I am about October, when we will be given an animated treat. I hope, however, that Drive will work with Ito and will accomplish what we are all hoping for, to catch Ito’s fluid and personal style and to put it in a magnificent light, the one it deserves.
What can I tell you more about this manga that I love? Well, not much, because we have already talked about it. We shall only wait and see for things to unfold in their own peace and to hope for the best. ‘Till then, enjoy the already arrived series.
