Gift ideas are almost always difficult to find, especially if the person you’re gifting has particular interests or is very picky and hard to please. It also depends on how close you are to that person. It comes the time when the holidays are near and you still have no idea what gifts to buy for that one person.
If you happen to have a friend that is a bookworm or yourself, then this article will help you. The gift ideas I’m going to present to you aren’t truly original and unique, but they will definitely put a smile on their face. More than that, they will find the gifts useful and they can use them on a daily basis.
Bookmarks
It might sound basic and boring, but personally, I know many bookworms, including myself, that have an impressive collection of bookmarks. I think that fancy bookmarks, such as magnetic or leather ones, make great gifts. I also think bookmarks are one of the best gift ideas: they can be found at any bookstore and can be cute or funny.
Book sleeve
A bookworm will NEVER go out without at least one book in their bag. Unfortunately, books can suffer mild damages, such as folded pages or cover (in case of paperbacks and dust jackets) or worse, something inside the bag can stain the pages. Book sleeves are life-savers. They are useful AND stylish. You can find book sleeves for Kindle, paperbacks and hardcovers.
Enamel pins
I don’t know why, but I find enamel pins very cute. It doesn’t even matter if they are bookish or not. Many people love enamel pins, so there are high chances that your bookworm friend would love some bookish ones. Based on what books they love, you can find affordable, good quality enamel pins with quotes or symbols from the respective books.
Blanket
Honestly, one doesn’t even have to be a bookworm to adore fuzzy and big blankets! You can literally find them everywhere, and they are affordable! They can be found in all colours and prints. Make sure you add some coffee or hot chocolate, so your friend can have a nice, cosy reading time.
Scented candles
Okay but- scented candles are great??? You can never go wrong with scented candles! They can be found everywhere, in all shapes and sizes, with all sorts of flavours. If your budget is higher, you can buy them bookish scented candles. They are crafted based on fictional characters and have a lot of cute details (I swear I’ve seen candles that look like tiny cakes!). They are generally more expensive since they are made by small businesses, but they are cuter and more unique than regular ones (you also encourage and support small businesses, it’s a win-win).
Personalised bookish mug
Who doesn’t love mugs? They are adorable, and can be used at any time of the year! For your bookworm friend, you can either buy already personalised bookish mugs or you can buy a basic mug and go to a print shop. The latter solution is cheaper and you have infinite prints to choose from!
Kindle
If you can afford it and want to gift your friend something special and unforgettable, you can buy a Kindle from Amazon. They have many ranges of sizes and prices. They are not only easy to carry around, but your friend can save money and space by reading books on Kindle (e-books can be found for free, so it is even better)
Custom book embosser
If they say, I don’t know, want to be super fancy and mark their books with their very own personal stamp, this fancy-schmancy embosser will allow them to do just that. I think this is a unique and nice gift for a bookworm.
To choose this gift idea, first get to know if your friend has a problem with writing on their books or not. Not all like to do that; for example, I can’t stand any type of marks left on my books (dog ears and notes on books break my heart).
Bookstore gift card
Physical or digital, all are welcome! Every bookworm in this world will accept a gift card wholeheartedly. There are dozens of national and international bookstores that have gift card options. I think it is one of the most effortless, but efficient gift ideas ever.
Recommendations for Romanian bookstores: Cărturești, Libris, Okian, Nemira, Librex;

Tote bag
Last but not least… tote bag! They are quite trendy now and give the main-character vibes. They are very cute. I am sure your bookworm friend would love a tote bag and they can use it whenever they go out.
